SANTA ANA (CNS) - Homicide detectives were continuing their investigation Friday into a bloody scene at a storage facility in Santa Ana, where a woman and her uncle were found dead and her boyfriend -- the suspected assailant -- was left in critical condition.

Police found the victims about 4:25 p.m. Thursday at the storage unit in the 1200 block of East Chestnut Avenue, Santa Ana Officer Natalie Garcia said.

The woman called 911, saying she and her uncle had been stabbed by her boyfriend, Garcia said.

She and the man she described as her uncle were pronounced dead at the scene, while the suspect was found with a self-inflicted wound to the upper body and taken to an area hospital, where he remained in grave condition, Garcia said.

All three had gunshot wounds, she said.

Garcia said the woman and her boyfriend were visiting the uncle in the storage facility, where he apparently was residing.

The uncle had a "ton of edged weapons" in the unit, but it was unclear if he was selling them or was just a collector, she said.

It was unconfirmed whether a spear at the scene had been used in the attack, Garcia said.

Authorities were working to notify all the family members before releasing the names of the victims, she said.
